EXCERPT

Skylar wiped the sweat from her brow and heaved out a breath. Without turning, she asked, “Are you here to gloat?”

“Those units weren’t made to sustain that kind of damage.”

“Jax can bill me.”

She turned so their eyes met and he could see barely banked anger burning in her icy blue eyes. He wondered what had her so twisted up. He was glad he had taken the time to change before seeking her out. His casual black shirt and loose fitting pants made their meeting far more relaxed then if he had remained in his uniform. Going for a casual response, he uncrossed his arms and leaned against the low wall that separated the individual training area they were in from the rest of the room. “You want to explain what your comment meant, Sky?”

“As if you don’t know.”

Rage all but radiated from her, but he wasn’t afraid. He raised an eyebrow at that, his confusion clear. “Would I ask if I knew?”

That seemed to give her pause. “You don’t know about my meeting with the regents?”

Dom straightened, instantly going on alert. “You had a meeting with them? When? About what? I thought the mission brief was scheduled for tomorrow.”

“You really don’t know, do you?”

Irritation made him scowl. “I said I didn’t. You know I don’t lie.”

She slowly nodded as her body seemed to relax. “Yeah, I do know that.”

“Obviously the meeting was bad enough for you to come here and beat the shit out of that droid. Tell me what happened.”

Her eyes narrowed at him. “I’m not on duty, Director. Don’t give me orders.”

“Fuck that, Sky,” Dom snapped. “Stop trying to pick a fight and just tell me why you’re upset.”

She let out an impatient breath. “You’re so damn bossy.”

He grunted as he took a step toward her. “So you are always telling me. Now, quit stalling.”

She ignored him as she walked over to the low wall to pick up the hoodie she had left hanging there and put it on, pulling up the zipper as she turned back to him. “The regents have decided that I need to choose a bonding pair or else I will be taken off active duty.”

“No.”

Her brows raised at that. “No? What do you mean, no?”

Skylar watched as his expression hardened as if were made of stone. His dark eyes gleaming with banked fury as he glared back at her. “It means, fuck no, they can’t do that.”

A weight lifted off her chest at the words he practically snarled at her. It was true that he didn’t lie, but she had needed to see his reaction in order to really believe it.

“It’s done, Dom,” she said quietly. “I have until the end of this mission, then I will be relieved of my position if I don’t choose. Even so, I was informed that Jax could take me off the investigation if my past gets in the way.”

“Fuck!” he raged as he slammed a fist down on the low wall, shocking her into silence. He spun on her, eyes blazing with anger. “Do you really think I had anything to do with that? You think I have waited this long for you just to fuck it all up by having them push you into this position? I want you to choose me. To come to me and Arik of your own free will, not have you forced to take us just because you have no other option.”

“Well, we can’t all get what we want now, can we?” she spit out bitterly. “And what do you mean by waiting for me, you arrogant ass? Did you think I was just going to give in one day and beg you to claim me?

“Ha! You wouldn’t beg for water if you were dying of thirst, you stubborn woman.”

“Damn right.” She turned to leave, but Dom grabbed her arm, spinning her around again.

“We aren’t done.”

“Let go of me,” she snarled as she jerked her arm away from him.

“Do you think I’m going to just let you claim me now because the regents think they can force this on me?”

“No, I know you're going to let me claim you because of this.”

Dom grabbed hold of her, wrapping one strong arm around her waist while the other wound her hair tight around his fist. Using it a leverage, he jerked her head back and slammed his mouth down on to hers, taking her lips in a brutal kiss. Her body went rigid in his hold, and he braced himself, ready to take the surge of energy he was sure she would hit him with.

But it never came.

Her hand came up to the front of his shirt, but instead of shoving him away, Dom felt her fist the material in her grasp to pull him closer. Fuck it, he thought. If he wasn’t on his ass from her shocking the shit out of him, he might as well take advantage and thoroughly enjoy the situation.

Dom’s grip on her tightened as he coaxed her lips apart, spearing his tongue deep to mate with hers. She let out a soft moan that made his cock painfully hard, and she met his passion with equal fervor. There was no hesitation as her own tongue stroked against his, making his body burn with the need to take her. He knew she could feel the rigid length of his cock pressed against her and let out a groan of his own as her body moved enticingly against him.

Stars, he wanted to fucking devour her in great greedy gulps.

He lost himself in the kiss. Forgetting to breath, he had to pull back when he started to get light headed. His lungs billowed as he gulped in air. The feel of her breasts pressed up against his chest made him growl as he lowered his head to taste her again, but the momentary pause had given her enough time to gather her wits. She released her hold on his shirt to push at him, stopping him from claiming lips again.

“Wait! Just...wait.”

“Damn it, Sky,” he growled. “Just let me claim you for star’s sake!”

“No. This is crazy!”

“Crazy is stopping,” Dom argued harshly. “I want you.”

3013: The Series - Now Available in Print

The first four books in the bestselling 3013 series are now in print and available at Amazon.

Alexis Donovan is a woman whose ream of falling in love with the perfect men has been dashed because of her infertile status. Still recovering from a war that almost destroyed the world, humans have fought to rebuild and have once again opened their shields to outside visitors. As a liaison officer for alien races that are visiting Earth, Alexis does her best to ignore what she can never have, but when she is put in charge of four visiting alien warriors, her entire world changes...

Dragons Warriors from Arcadia, Xavier and Galan Tesera and their best friends Thorn and Brydan Volis, have been curious about Earth ever since they helped the humans defeat their enemy years ago. As commanders of their own space vessel they travel the galaxies searching out the unknown, but in their hearts they know they will never truly be satisfied without a mate by their side.

In the aftermath of a war that almost destroyed Earth, the Alliance now rules, but not everyone chooses to live by their laws. Alayna is a rebel living by her own rules in the harsh badlands, outside the Alliance’s control. She is a thief, stealing from the wealthy to provide for those who cannot survive on their own, all while hiding the tattoo that marks her as one of the few remaining fertile women on Earth…making her a target.

Alliance Elites Nikolai Grekov and Colin Nielson are stationed at a neglected base on the edge of the badlands after years spent in space. Their orders are to track down an elusive thief that’s been plaguing the area’s outposts, but they also have their own agenda. Both men want to find and claim a fertile woman to call their own and fulfill their dreams of becoming a family.

When the men catch the sexy, headstrong, thief breaking into their home, they claim Alayna for their own. Nikolai and Colin may have claimed their chosen, but the battle for her heart has just begun. Can they find a way to win her trust or will their beautiful renegade’s need for freedom destroy their chance of happiness?

As one of Earth’s greatest leaders, Commander Jax Spartan lives his life by a strict code. Dedicated and alpha to the core, he is the epitome of what every Elite solider aspires to be. Second-in-command Sullivan Archer rules by his best friend’s side, and together they form an unstoppable force that few are foolish enough to challenge. Jax and Archer have always known they’d share their chosen, but their hearts have already been claimed by the woman they’ve vowed will belong to them.

Alliance scientist Serra Lysander is a genius who has kept the planet safe with her inventions. She’s lived a sheltered life, separated from society by her brilliant mind and her overprotective mother. The only time Serra has truly ever felt accepted is with the two men that will cost her everything…

When danger leads Serra straight into the arms of Jax and Archer, they will do anything to keep her safe, even claiming her despite the fact she is off limits. With the future of the Alliance on the line, will their love and dedication be enough to save them, or will they be too late to stop the growing threat from destroying them all?

Sonja Grekov has spent her life in a gilded cage, trapped by her wealthy family’s expectations and the scroll tattoo on her face that declares her to be one of the coveted fertile women on Earth. No longer willing to be a pawn to further her parents’ ambition, she finally finds the courage to break free before she can be claimed in a loveless match. She is determined to set her own path, but never expected where it would take her...

Trevar Storm and Deacon Wilde are Alliance Elites, but there’s nothing elite about their current assignment. They crew one of the oldest freighters in the fleet, ferrying goods across Alliance controlled space with just each other for company. With a reputation for trouble and no chance at promotion, the two men are planning for the day they can go into business for themselves and leave their military lives behind.

A straightforward supply run turns into a life changing event when the two elites discover a treasure hidden in their cargo bay. Keeping their sexy stowaway may bring the full wrath of the Alliance down on their heads, but Trevar and Deacon won’t let her go without a fight. Will their journey end in heartache, or can three misfit hearts find love in the darkness between the stars?

Story Excerpt:

A muffled groan came from somewhere beneath Deke, confirming it wasn’t the ground crew. None of them would be careless enough to end up inside a shuttle heading for orbit.

“Hey, is someone there?”

Silence.

“Hello? If you can hear me, make some noise.”

Another groan, this one a little louder, reached his ears. Well, whoever it was, they weren’t dead. Though after experiencing blackout levels of g-forces while being imprisoned in a containment field, they were probably suffering from a headache that would make them wish they were dead.

He carefully shifted several crates, tunneling down toward the sound. When he lifted the last box, his heart seized in his chest and he had to take a second look to confirm he wasn’t hallucinating. Nope. That was definitely a woman. Her dress was dirty and torn, and her dark brown hair was lying in a tangle across her face, but there was no way she was a hallucination. Neither was the delicate scroll tattoo he could see peeking out through the strands of her chestnut hair.

Fuck.
He toggled his wrist unit and sent a verbal-only message to Trevar. “Get down to the cargo bay, right fucking now. We have a problem.”

“Shit. I don’t want problems, Deke, I want to get going. Can’t it wait?”

“No.” He heard Trevar sigh heavily, the other man’s frustration a near tangible thing even through the comms.

“What the fuck is it that can’t wait until we’re out of orbit? Did you find our mystery cargo? Please tell me it’s something valuable.”

“More like priceless,” Deke muttered as their stowaway moaned softly and opened her eyes for the first time. Dark lashes framed a pair of blue eyes the color of glacial ice, and for a moment they stared at each other in silence.

“Deke? What the fuck are you talking about?” Trevar’s voice broke the spell.
“You’re going to need to see this for yourself. Move your ugly ass, and bring your med-kit.”

“What the hell? Are you hurt?”

“Not for me, for the kitten in the cargo bay.”

Deke ignored the next outburst from Trevar and focused his attention on the woman staring up at him. “Who the hell are you, and what are you doing hiding in my cargo bay?”

Sonja felt like she’d been run over by a transpo, twice. Her chest ached and her head throbbed like it might explode at any second. She remembered the engines roaring to life, but after that things went fuzzy. When her eyes finally focused, she found herself looking up at a handsome man with a stern expression on his face. He had a short, well-trimmed beard that was a shade darker than the cropped red hair on his head, and even from this odd angle she could see enough of his steel-gray uniform to know he was a member of the Alliance.

“Had to…get away. Hiding. Didn’t want them to find me,” she said, her voice coming out as a gritty whisper. She hated how weak she sounded, and cleared her throat to try again. “I’m Sonja.”

“Who was chasing you? No one said anything to us about trouble back at the base.”
She shook her head, and then groaned as the small movement sent pain stabbing into her skull. “Long story. Where am I?”

“You’re on board our freighter, the Arca, and you are a long way from home, Sonja.”
“Good.” The further away she was from the base, the better. With any luck they’d gone deeper into the badlands.

Someone came running, their footsteps loud enough to make her ears ring. There was something wrong with their stride though. It seems as though there was too much time between footfalls. Sonja stirred, ignoring her aches and pains to focus all her attention on her surroundings. She pressed down on the floor and found herself rising off the ground. The gravity wasn’t right. “We’re not on Earth?”

“We’re in orbit around it,” the officer stated. “I’m Deacon, by the way. Are you hurt? I found blood on the bay floor.”

Sonja ignored his question and asked one of her own, instead. “Are you going to turn me in?”

“That depends on why you’re hiding in our cargo bay,” a new voice spoke, and Sonja realized this must be the source of the footsteps she’d heard.

Deacon turned his head to speak to someone behind him. “I didn’t want to move her until you got here. I think she’s fine, but—”

“I’m okay. I just wasn’t expecting my first trip into space to be so, uh, violent.”

Deacon moved back and another man appeared in her field of vision. He was older than Deacon, with dark hair that was several inches longer than it should have been considering he was clearly another Alliance officer. His steel-gray eyes matched his uniform, and his expression was one of bemusement as he looked down at her. “Hello, kitten. I’m Lieutenant Trevar Storm, and you are not supposed to be back here.”

Steamy Excerpt

“Like what you see?” Trevar’s question came out as a roughened growl as he took a step toward her, then another. She felt like rabbit being hunted by a pair of eagles, if the eagles were really, really big.

“If I say yes, what happens next?”

Deke actually chuckled at that. “What would you like to happen, sweetheart?”

“Um….” She lifted her hands, palms up, as she struggled to find the right words.
“Funny, you didn’t have any problem showing us what you wanted last night. Ah, that’s the problem, isn’t it, we’re talking too much.” Trevar walked up to her and set his hand down on the counter to her right, while Deke mirrored his actions on her left.
She was caught.

Trevar was right. Talking wasn’t working for her, action would be easier. She had to stretch her arms to reach them, but she managed to place a hand on each of their shoulders, drawing them in closer. They came willingly, pressing up against her so there was no more space between them.

Trevar moved first, dropping his head to slant his mouth across hers. The moment their lips met, she forgot why she’d been nervous. There was no need to be. He kissed her slowly, sampling her lips and then moving deeper. His teeth nipped at her lower lip, sending a sizzling flash of heat coursing through her. This was what she needed, what she’d always craved and never been allowed to have. Here was someone who wanted her for something besides the mark on her face or her family’s wealth. No, she corrected herself with what was left of her mind. Here were two someones, and they both wanted her.

Trevar knew he was in deep trouble the second his mouth touched hers. Kissing Sonja was like standing inside a plasma bomb’s blast zone at the moment of ignition. She seared his skin with every touch, sending Trevar’s blood boiling and his dick aching with the need to be inside her. She was beautiful, sexy, and breathtakingly naïve. Part of him wanted nothing more than to send her home again, to live out a safe, protected life of luxury. Instead, he was charging her a small fortune to deliver her to an uncertain future, and he was going to do it while showing her everything he knew about pleasure. The thought gave him a moment’s twinge, but he ignored it. He’d deal with the fallout later, after they’d gotten safely to X2.

She rubbed herself against him, enticing him and inflaming him at the same time. There was no artifice to her actions, no games being played. He delved into the sweet heat of her mouth and felt her shudder in response, loving the honesty of her reactions. She was so different from the hardened women he usually spent time with. Sonja was still touched by innocence. He could sense her emotions, need blending with nervousness and hint of uncertainty, and it was almost enough to break him. Almost, but not quite. She was far too good for a bastard like him, but that knowledge wouldn’t stop him. He was going to have her anyway.

He lifted the hand that had been set down on the counter and speared his fingers into her hair, the cool, soft weight of it tumbling through his fingers. She’d selected some fragrance he couldn’t remember the name of for her cleanser, a subtle, fruity scent that freshened the recycled air around her like a sea breeze on a hot summer day. Fuck, he had it bad if he was waxing poetic about her damned shampoo.

It was the weight of Deke’s hand on his shoulder that reminded Trevar that he wasn’t alone with Sonja. It was an act of pure will to lift his head and release her. Her eyes ice-blue eyes were clouded with desire, and her lips were swollen from their kisses. He liked seeing even those faint marks of possession on her. He reminded himself this was only temporary, a pleasant distraction, nothing more. Once they got to X2, she’d only be a memory. He planned on making it a damned good one.

For the first time since puberty, Deke was having trouble controlling his emotions and no fucking luck at all controlling his body. He’d been impatiently waiting for her to wake up for the past few hours, and none of his usual calming techniques had done more than take the edge off his need to see her again. He hadn’t done more than kiss her yet, and she was already wreaking havoc in his world. This didn’t bode well for the day they parted ways, but right now he didn’t care. All that mattered was getting her back in his arms.

She greeted him with a dazed smile and rose up on her toes to kiss him, her hand moving from his shoulder to the nape of his neck as he wrapped both arms around her and tugged her in hard against his body. Damn, she felt good in his arms, warm, and soft, and eager. She wriggled closer, brushing against the hard ridge of his cock and he groaned into her mouth at the pleasure of that brief contact. He couldn’t wait to feel her hands on him, or her mouth, or how good it would feel to drive deep into her hot pussy.

Deke slid his tongue into her mouth and she moaned, the vibration coursing through him and leaving nothing but raw need in its wake. She opened to him completely, her tongue twining with his as she molded herself to him. He unwound one arm from her waist to run his hand down her side until his hand found bare skin. The silken warmth of her thigh inflamed him.

More. He needed more.

Sneak Peek - 3013 CLAIMED

Here are two excerpts from Laurie Roma's new release - 3013: CLAIMED!

Look for it on Amazon, Smashwords and ARe on April 15th!

STORY EXCERPT

Regent Spartan’s eyes narrowed. “Who have you called in?”
“Director Stryker and Ambassador V’Dir.”
With a satisfied nod, Regent Spartan said, “They are the best. If she’s innocent, they’ll clear her. The information we have is that the sale for the new stealth technology is set to be held on New Vega in a few weeks. Serra Lysander is booked on a private shuttle for New Vega before the deadline. That is highly suspicious. Even you have to admit that.”
“And why is she back on Earth now?” Regent Marks asked. “She hardly ever comes back on planet, so why has she decided to come check out the drones we’re testing the stealth tech on? We aren’t set to add it to the fleet for another three months, so why is she here now? She arrived here in the Capital. If she is here to examine her creation, why didn’t she arrive in Light City where the testing site is? We need to know what the hell she is trying to hide!”
Jax stared at the regents, knowing the older men saw the hard edge that gleamed from his own eyes. “Archer,” he snapped.
Knowing what Jax was asking for, Archer stepped forward. “Serra Lysander comes back to Earth every year for a two week period this time a year so she can attend the Freedom Day Gala. She’d never fly into Light City unless she has to, because that is where her fathers are stationed. Since they’re more interested in spending their free time with their mistress instead of seeing their daughter, Serra doesn’t bother with them. Tania Lysander-Dobbs is sure to stay clear of Earth if Serra is going to be anywhere near her fathers.”
“Why would Serra have handed the technology over to the Alliance if she just wanted to sell it?” Jax asked. “If you’ve looked at her accounts, you know she doesn’t care about credits. She hardly spends anything, and has more than she could spend in a lifetime anyways. All her time is focused on work.”
“Still, that doesn’t explain about the timing of the sale,” Regent Marks argued.
Jax turned to glare at the regent. “It’s not her, and you’re wasting time thinking it is.”
Regent Spartan sighed. “Jax, we are doing what we have to in order to protect the Alliance. Hell, to protect Earth. This new stealth program Serra has created far surpasses everything we have to date. Christ, even our systems can’t pick it up on scans. Can you imagine what would happen if one of our enemies had that tech? They could get within range to destroy our shields before we even knew they were there. There is too much at stake for us to simply let her go because you believe her.”
“Our people are working on a system to detect the stealth mode, but they’ve hit a wall and can’t figure out how to do it.” The irritation in Regent Mark’s voice was clear. “We have to figure out who is selling our tech and track the buyer so we can shut it down from that end. We need information, and that woman is the key!”
The grin that crossed Archer’s face was anything but amused. His amber eyes had a dangerous gleam to them that warned everyone in the room that he wasn’t a man to cross. “We’ll figure out who is behind this. Believe me.” He jerked his head toward the door. “Jax.”
Jax nodded then pulled the door open, striding out into the hallway. The two regents scurried out of the room after them, their protests falling on deaf ears. Jax simply glared at the soldier standing guard in front of the closed door to the interrogation room and watched with satisfaction as the poor man shifted to the side with a hunch of his shoulders as if trying to escape notice.
“Jax! Stop ignoring me. You can’t go in there,” his father growled.
“Watch me.”
“Damn it, have some sense! You have no authority in this!”
“Oh, but I will. Anything that has to do with Serra is our business, and therefore gives us the authority to act on her behalf.” Jax’s smile was feral. “She belongs to us. Consider her claimed.”

ADULT EXCERPT

Serra sucked in a harsh breath as she admired his strong, beautiful body. He was like sculpted marble, all hard muscle and sinew covered with golden flesh. She loved the hard contours of his body, and the large cock that jutted out proudly from between his thighs.
She was fascinated by the differences between their bodies, and wanted to look at him, up close and personal. He reminded her of a large jungle cat, and she was mesmerized by the way his muscles moved as he stalked forward. Lust mixed with curiosity when he sat down right in front of her. She drank him in, studying the rigid shaft that had filled and risen so it slapped against his hard abs.
Positioning herself between his legs, she hesitated before she set her hands down on his hard thighs. The solid muscle beneath her fingers flexed as she slid her hands up slowly. Tearing her gaze away from his straining flesh, she looked up into his eyes, needing to ask him for what she wanted. As if he knew she was holding back, he frowned at her.
“What do you want, Serra? Ask me and it’s yours.”
“I…I want to study you. Is that bad?”
“Go ahead, baby. But I have to warn you, I’m already riding the edge. It won’t take much to push me over. I want you too much, and having you stare at my dick isn’t helping.”
She looked back down at his hard flesh and saw his shaft jerk under her gaze. “It seems to like the attention,” she murmured.
He choked back a laugh. “You are going to be the death of me, woman.”
She glanced back up at him and smiled, knowing he could see the emotions swirling in her eyes. “No, Jax. I’m going to be your life, as you will be mine.”
“Serra,” Jax growled low in his throat. “Finish your inspection before I take you right here on the damn floor.”
Hearing the strain in his voice, she decided to stop stalling and get on with her experiment. She knew he was holding onto his control by a thin thread from the tension all but radiating from him. Looking at him like this was an experience unlike any other she’d ever had. She wasn’t just a scientist studying a subject. She was a woman learning her lover’s body.
Serra had often heard other women talking about their sex partners. She’d heard men’s penises often described as being odd looking, or even strange and ugly. Now, seeing Jax with her own eyes, Serra knew they were wrong.
Jax was beautiful…every single inch of him.
His hard cock was large and thick, with heavy veins pulsing under the skin of the shaft. The mushroomed head looked soft, almost supple, and she was utterly enthralled as a drop of liquid appeared at the tip from the tiny hole at the end. Pre-cum. She knew what it was, but had never seen it before.
And she wanted to taste it…taste him.
Jax leaned back on his hands, letting his head fall back as he let her do her thing. It was a kind of torture. To sit there patiently and let her study him, when all he wanted to do was throw her on the ground and pound himself into her until he got rid of the damn hard-on he’d been packing for days. He knew about her need to understand everything around her, and he struggled to give her that. Jax not only wanted her to be comfortable with his body, he also wanted her to be able to ask him for anything she needed.
It had been difficult for him to leave her earlier, allowing her time with Archer so she wouldn’t feel overwhelmed or unsure about their commitment to caring for her. He’d seen too many other bonding units run into issues if both men claimed a woman together the first time they introduced her to the pleasures they could give her, and he didn’t want that for Serra. Stepping back had been hard as hell, but he hadn’t been lying when he said he would do anything for her.
Shit, he’d kill for her…waiting a few hours to fuck the hell out of her wasn’t even in his top ten list of difficult tasks he’d do for her. He let his mind drift as he closed his eyes, trying to relax, but they popped back open as he let out a hoarse shout when he felt her tongue lap at the pre-cum dripping from the head of his cock.
Holy galactic sonic boom, she really was trying to fucking kill him!
Serra hummed in her throat as the taste of him exploded on her tongue. His flavor was rich, almost earthy, salty with a hint of sweetness she hadn’t expected. She was encouraged by his throaty growl, and engulfed the head of his cock into her mouth, sucking lightly on the spongy head as she swirled her tongue around it to collect another pulse of pre-cum.
“Sweet God, baby! Fuck, that’s good. Suck it. Suck my cock for me.”
